How come my neck hurts after i do crunches?

Holding your head: When you do sit-ups or crunches, you generally hold your head in a neutral position or slightly forward, and if you do this for many repetitions, you are going to get a "stiff" neck or some pain in the neck. You can try different exercises like planking or medicine ball crunches.
