Hit the side of my forearm and now my it's red and my finger knuckle is a bit blueish/purple even though i didn't hit it. it also hurts to hold things?

Bleeding: Redness at the site of injury is common and bleeding under the skin shows up as bluish and purple color where gravity pulls it away from the injury site. Discomfort with holding things will persist until the injury heals. See your health provider if the problems worsen or persist.

Blunt trauma : Best to get an X-ray. If there is a fracture - especially in a joint - you will want it to heal properly. Remember "RICE" rest, ice, compression (for stability at least) and elevation.
