My partner is a diabetic and is taking amoxicillin. can it raise his blood sugar?

No: Hi. No, amoxicillin cannot raise blood sugar. Infection and stress certainly can raise blood sugar, however. So whatever your partner is taking the amoxicillin FOR could certainly cause a rise in blood sugar. If your partner is on a dose-adjustable medicine (essentially insulin), your pard should take more insulin until the infection is resolved. Good luck!

Amoxyl and diabetes: Amoxicillin by itself is unlikely to raise blood glucose, however ,the infection that the amoxcicillin was prescribed for can lead to instabilities in blood glucose. The blood glucose should be checked more frequently during this period and if its high contact your health care provider
