Not cancer: Here in Kansas City, calcified hilar lymph nodes are extremely common because of histoplasmosis. Calcified nodes, especially in someone like you, aren't cancer. Without an identifiable chest mass, the risks of the procedure outweight the negilgible possibility of benefit unless you may have aspirated a foreign body at some point.
