Clonazepam: The maximum dose is 20 mg daily. Clonazepam (Klonopin), a member of the benzodiazepine family, has some anticonvulsant properties. Any long-term use of this medication should be tempered by the potential for dependency and addiction.

Any amount: can be dangerous if not taken as prescribed. You do not want to combine CNS depressants (like alcohol and Klonopin (clonazepam)) and you don't want to abruptly discontinue chloride channel drugs (benzodiazepines and barbiturates) With larger doses of Klonopin (clonazepam) you can see increased risk of withdrawal seizures, respiratory depression and cognitive impairment.
