I'm sorry : About your diagnosis. You don't really provide a great deal of information about your overall condition. However, the fact that you are well enough to participate lucidly in this online community, it doesn't seem to me that you are " shutting down" just yet. Hopefully you are receiving good palliative care. It seems as if you are. I wish more good days for you.

Difficult disease: There are 2 main types of pancreatic cancer-- adenocarcinoma or neuroendocrine cancer. Stage 4 disease from either is not really curable, and the survival with Stage 4 adenocarcinoma is usually shorter than with neuroendocrine tumor. That being said, chemotherapy can sometimes control Stage 4 cancer for over 1-2 years. But if you've already maixmized therapy, focus on symptom control.
