Musculoskeletal: At your age, and in someone without other medical issues, your pain is most likely from an intercostal rib spasm or other musculoskeletal spasm which may respond to OTC NSAIDs like naproxen. Kidney stone or bladder infection may also present with left-sided flank or rib pain, but often with more severe pain and/or fever.
