I'm having an ultrasound scan on my neck an was wondering would an ultrasound scan be able to detect a lymphoma or an abnormal mass in my neck?

Yes: An ultrasound of an area can detect an abnormal mass in that area and characterize is as fluid-filled or solid. An MRI and CT scan with IV contrast can also be used to evaluate neck masses, and may offer additional information or image a larger area.
