First Cold: At two months old, no medications are recommended. You can use saline drops to clear out her nose, suction the mucous out with a bulb syringe, elevate the head of her crib and give her 2 ounces of pedialyte three times per day to increase her fluid intake. The first colds are the worst :(

See Your Doctor NOW: 2 mos old has "irritating cough". Babies at this age do catch colds however the distinction between a simple upper respiratory infection vs. more serious such as Pneumonia is difficult to make. Signs & symptoms are unreliable at this age & it is easy to miss cues of worsening condition. Also fever may or may not be present. See your baby's doctor NOW for correct diagnosis and prompt treatment.
