1nostril at a time: People only breathe from one nostril at a time. Your blood flow engorges that nostril to carry as much oxygen as possible to your blood. After a couple of minutes, it will switch to the other side. It is common, especially with a cold to have congestion and then feel draining after a couple of minutes or to feel different symptoms on each nostril.
