Heart failure: Heart disease and heart failure are fairly nonspecific terms. In general you need a diagnosis of what the disease is and how much cardiac dysfunction is present and what the prognosis attendant to the diagnosis is. There is a difference between systolic and diastolic dysfunction heart failure for instance. Talk to your Doctor and ask for an explanation of the diagnosis and the prognosis.
