Focus on: functional exercises that do not isolate a specific muscle like singular bicep curls; for example stair climb bicep curls. Working out multiple muscle groups at any one time is much more efficient. Getting "toned" doesn't require lifting heavy weights but rather losing body fat. So you'll need to make sure your heart rate increases while lifting or augment your lifting with walking, jogging, etc
