Salivary Gland: There are many major and minor salivary glands in the oral cavity and within the face. Many times there can be blockages, partial or complete, that can result in symptoms similar to yours. Seeking the help of an oral and maxillofacial surgeon may be helpful, who can further evaluate you clinically and obtain radiological tests.

Obstruction: Stones forms from the mineral contents of the saliva, obstruct salivary glands ducts, and when you eat or drink those glands get stimulated to secret saliva that can't go through the ducts to the oral cavity due to the stones obstructing it. You need physical and radiological examination to determine location of the stones to remove them.
