Yes: I take chest pain very seriously and even though you have a heart condition that can cause chest pain a full exam and testing is required for your complaint of chest pain again if still persisting.

MVP: Mitral valve prolapse can cause chest pain and shortness of breath, yes. But there are other causes too and a visit to your doctor would be an excellent idea. These symptoms are not necessarily caused by your MVP. Good health!
