A member asked:

I have this long movable painful cyst on my tailbone but nothing shows up on my xray. whatever it is, it throbs making it hard to sit for long periods?

Xray is not helpful: Cysts are usually comprised of soft tissue, not bone, and therefore do not show up on regular xray. MRI is imaging entity of choice for any cyst that is painful or changing in character. I would rec you see an orthopaedic surgeon (general or spine) for evaluation or perhaps discuss MRI with your PCP.
