Try to avoid it for: at least 24 hours if not 48 hours after your tattoo. Additionally, when you start back at exercise, avoid wearing tight fitting clothing in the area of the tattoo. Avoid doing exercises that stretch/create friction in the area of the tattoo. Keep the tattoo dressed. Keep the area clean. But you should really talk to your tattoo artist about this too.
