A member asked:

Are there new innovations in technology that are currently being tried to treat and prevent cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Monoclonal antibody therapy is beginning to show improvement in survival. The antiCTLA and PD-1 antibodies alter the ability of the WBC that are cytotoxic to work efficiently in melanoma. Specific antibodies to immunogenic proteins in advanced colon and pancreatic cancer are showing enhancement in survival as naked antibodies thru ADCC. When coupled with chemo we should see better responses.
