What is the recovery like for a 4 year old after getting a tonsillectomy?

STATUS POST T/A: Tonsillectomy is a 1 day surgery. Child is sent home with plenty of ice drinks or ice cream to eat to prevent bleeding. Postop is usually uneventful, complete recovery is expected within a week or two.
