See below: If you mean one episode of strep throat. The answer is no. We normally look at 4 episodes in 6 months or 6 in a year. As long as there was no complications.

1 episode of what ?: If a 6 yo or someone at any age develops a tonsillar/peri-tonsilar abscess, removal may be reasonable after the initial emergency treatment.
