Sore throat: It is important to find out the cause of your sore throat. If it is a strep throat and you are not allergic to Penicillin then you require an antibiotic, amoxicillin is generally used daily for 10 days. In general gargling with sally and water or an antiseptic will help keep you mouth and throat clean. Using Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen may help with the pain.
