A member asked:

I have prostatitis (bacterial). i know that if a person doesn't have symptoms it means infection is cleared, but is there any other way to check it?

Yes: A urine test or urethral swab can give indirect indicators, as can a prostate exam by your doctor. If you have no symptoms, the infection is most likely gone though. Hope this helps!

There are: But you should know that there is great truth to what you mentions as if you clinically no longer have symptoms and have completed your antibiotics you are likely fine, but often doctors will recheck at least a urine culture to make sure no further bacteria grows or sometimes both a urine culture and urinalysis to make sure no inflammatory cells remain in your urine too.
