Pain relief: Taking narcotic medication in doses greater than prescribed is unadvisable for several reasons. It may be dangerous leading to increased side effects or overdose. Many states require frequent drug tests when on a narcotic and overtaking may lead to failure and they also require discharge for these reasons. See your Dr for a med change if ineffective.
