Treat constipation: Constipation is underrecognized and undertreated and causes a host of problem, including chronic abdominal pain, urinary symptoms and even infection. While you should get him checked for proper treatment of constipation, make sure he doesn't have other reason for increased water intake and urination like diabetes.

Constipation: every ones bowel habits are different. If the stool is hard or infrequent it may been true constipation. There is a workup that can be done by his pediatrician to determine the cause and then be able to appropriately treat

Constipation: If he's been constipated that long, make sure hes gets assessed well for other issues. Is he growing well? Is he eating a variety of fruits and vegetables esp the more colorful ones. Ask your pediatrician about probiotics, dietary changes you can make to help with his constipation. By definition even if he's not having a BM daily but it comes out soft, he's not constipated.
