Fever and abd pain: Typhoid is caused by a bacteria called salmonella typhi. You get it from contaminated food or water, usually in underdeveloped countries. Symptoms include high fever, fatigue, weakness, sore throat and abdominal pain. Some people get a rash. Children are more likely to get diarrhea than adults. Typhoid is treated with antibiotics and fluids and rest.
