No: Having a migraine including a full-blown migraine on awakening is unfortunately not uncommon. It happens because it happens. Orally disintegrating triptans e.g. Zomig-ZMT, Maxalt-MLT, nasal sprays (Imitrex, Zomig) & injectable triptans e.g. Sumavel are recommended for such headaches (especially by their manufacturers) but individual response varies from person to person & headache to headache.
