A member asked:

What is known about high histamine levels. could that cause migraine and also sensitivity to allergies. very light sleeper and sleep only 5 to 6 hrs.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Terminology: Cluster headaches historically were also termed "histamine cephalgia", but the headaches had nothing to do with histamine, and migraine has little to do with this also. Histamine does increase as an allergic phenomenon, and seasonal allergies seem more frequent in migraine pts. If you suffer both, a drug called Cyproheptadine may treat allergies and prevent migraines (twofers).
