Neuralgia: Such sharp,jabbing pains in that area are often due to neuralgia which is an irritable superficial nerve. This is more of a nuisance than anything serious and usually resolves without any specific treatment. However if symptoms persist or worsen, see your physician for evaluation.Sinus discomfort usually is more sustained and is over the eyes or cheekbones.
