Ultrasound: You should be able to see the baby. The ultrasound screen is usually right next to the bed. However, a vaginal ultrasound is used to look at early pregnancies and if less than 6 weeks you may only see early pregnancy signs.

They will do measurements appropriate for the number of weeks you are,ex, 11-14weeks they will measure the fold at the back of the neck called the unchallenged fold. Of Course: Depending on how far along you are will dictate what you will see. If you are only a few weeks along, you may only see what's called a "yolk sac" At 6-8 weeks, you will usually see a heartbeat in your tiny baby. Seeing more in the way of anatomy, etc, would be done around 18-20 weeks.
