Clonazepam: Clonazepam is benzodaizepine in the same family as Xanax (alprazolam) and Valium. Opiates are narcotics like Morphine or Hydrocodone. Opiates are used for pain relief where Benzos are used by some for anxiety and in the case of Clonazepam occasionally for seizures. The withdrawal from both classes are similar but Benzo withdrawal may precipitate seizures so so not abruptly discontinue

Benzo: Hi - clonazepam is in the benzodiazepine family. It works to benzodiazepine receptors to enhance GABA affects in the brain; benzodiazepines (like clonazepam) are anxiolytics (decrease anxiety). Opioids bind to various opioid receptors to cause analgesia and sedation.
