A member asked:

My wife wakes up and tells me she has severe stomach/abdomin pain. when she stands it's a little less pain, when she sits it hurts worse. ulcer maybe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Needs to see doctor: Any severe abdominal pain should be evaluated by a health care professional as soon as possible. It can be difficult to distinguish an ulcer from other conditions such as gallbladder disease, pancreatic disease, appendicitis, vascular disease, or other causes. If she is actively having severe pain, would recommend going to ER for further evaluation.
