Inside your uterus: there is a thin lining called the endometrium, like the inside of your cheek. This lining is shed once a month on your menstrual cycle. You are correct in seeking a GYN opinion.due to your irregular bleeding.

Uterine lining: The endometrium is the lining of the uterus. It can cause prolonged bleeding if it is too thick or prolonged bleeding can cause it to all bleed off leaving a raw lining which will keep bleeding. How it is treated is different if it is too thick or too thin.

The endometrium: The tissue that lines the inside of your uterus is called the endometrial lining. It is built up each month in anticipation of pregnancy. A thickened lining at your age is often due to not ovulating regularly and less likely a endometrial polyp. My guess is he is treating you with hormones hoping to thin that lining

Reason for bleeding: The endometrial lining is what lines the uterus on the inside. This is the tissue that bleeds every month when a woman has a period. An abnormality in this lining is one reason for heavy or irregular periods. Finding a problem here may give the doctor good ideas of how to treat the irregular bleeding.
