Possibilities...: Rectal retroflexion aids in detection of anal fissure, hemorrhoidal bleeding, proctitis (inflamed rectum), anal abscess or fistula, trauma to the anal canal, skin changes around the anus (benign or malignant) or distal proctitis. Discuss with your doctor what his clinical concerns & suspicions were that prompted the colonoscopy, & whether he feels the procedure was enough to address them.
