Lots of reasons : Worries, poor sleep hygiene, alcohol, depression, anxiety, and medical issues can all be reasons for poor sleep. Try practicing sleep hygiene and relaxation and see what happens. Often times, worrying about not being able to fall asleep can make it to hard to sleep so try telling yourself "so what if I can't fall asleep" or try your best to stay awake!

Possibly: Insomnia can arise from anxiety. "Pre-living" the next day and reviewing the problems from the past day can keep us awake and are often symptoms of a larger anxiety disorder.
