Xanax (alprazolam): You will NOT become dependent on Xanax (alprazolam) or any other medication if y are only taking it 2-4 times per month. Daily/frequent use of medication is required to develop a true addiction, as the definition of addiction is to put your body into a state where it is chemically dependent on the medication, which can not happen with sporadic usage.

Occasional medicine: If you use your medicine this rarely, it is not likely you will become dependent on it. You can never say never, Dependency normally follows frequent, high dosing. The body may change in response to this, and withdrawal occurs when the medicine is stopped. Other people's comments are welcome as this is an important topic.
