A member asked:

If you have had a concussion 11 monthes, ago and it doesn't bother for 4 to 5 mo. but if you get a cold or sick why is it that, that area hurts first?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blow to head?: Sounds like you suffered a blow to the head? Was there a fractured skull? The area of impact on the skull may be suffering from a form of what is known as complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). This means that the area involved is now overly sensitized so that the slightest stimulus (even in terms of light touch or pressure) are painful or extremely painful. This may resolve with more time.
