Possible Problem: The symptoms you are describing are most typical for a stomach ulcer. They can also be seen with a hiatal hernia (extension of the stomach above the diaphragm) and with gastritis (inflammation of the stomach which can extend into the esophagus). I would recommend that you see your doctor soon, or go to the ER if symptoms get much worse. Antacids, prilosec, and Pepcid (famotidine) can help.
