Contact: The herpes virus is spread by contact with a lesion. Kissing with a cold sore, sex with a lesion...The virus can lie dormant and pop up at a much later date.

Spread by other ways: Herpes family viruses can spread by non sexual contact, stress, anxiety, cups, touching , your own fingers etc. These rashes can be easily treated by seeing your physician. Good luck
