A 20-year-old male asked:

Can a red spot around the head of the penis, painless, itchless, be any std (like herpes) ? it's been there for a week

Fungal Infection: First: herpes is very painful and is not red. Second, without itch it is difficult to say what you have. The two most common possibilities would be ringworm or a fungus...Or a staph infection. But, staph should cause some other symptoms like swelling. If it persists you should see a doctor.
