Not common: Need to rule out other causes. Prognosis is generally good to excellent. The syndrome causes no known long-term physical damage. Spontaneous remission has been known to occur, and in cases where anxiety is thought to be a major contributor, symptoms are typically lessened after the underlying anxiety is treated.

Fasciculations: Benign fasciculations are pretty common. Have you had this your entire life. or just for awhile? Is this your only symptom? Has there been any change with your weight, your muscles, or the way your clothes fit? To make the diagnosis, these questions are important, and an EMG test is helpful. Your symptoms could also be caused by old spinal cord changes.
