I found only one : study that showed a slight association with body height & weight & level of anxiety. Also associated were lack of sleep, a history of strenuous exercise &, of course, exposure to certain medications.

Sometimes: They often coincide in people but there is no clear relationship - certainly not a cause! It must be annoying at times depending on the muscles involved but it is not dangerous and often goes away.
