Board Certified: All podiatrists are experts in treating foot pain, but should that pain require surgery, your best bet is usually a podiatrist certified by the american board of podiatric surgery. These podiatrists have also met the rigorous certification requirements of this national organization and passed a lengthy examination.

Any podiatrist: If you are asking what type of podiatrist to see about your foot pain, any licensed podiatrist would do. If your condition requires the expertise outside the scope of that doctor, your podiatrist should be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck!

A Podiatrist.: A Podiatrist is a DPM or Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. This specialist would probably be your best option for foot pain. Find one that is Board Certified. Most Podiatrists are surgically trained, but not all. You can get a referral from your Primary care physician or find one on your own if your insurance does not require a referral.
