True: Too much of anything or too little of anything can be harmful. Its best to find a balance in between this schedule that your body likes. I personally recommend at least 10 hours of sleep if possible. I recommend daily exercise , avoidance of caffeinated drinks and a well balanced diet.

Honestly..: It sounds like your body is just very sensitive to the amount of sleep it gets.You need to experiment with allowing yourself to sleep for very specific amounts of time-with use of an alarm clock-and figure out exactly what amount of time your body responds best to.You need some trial and error.Start at a half hour less than when you sleep "more" and go down from there until you find yourself alert
