Many possibilities: sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like the kidneys stopped working. This may happen if blood pressure is too low, or he had an infection. May also have had fluid around the heart that made the heart not beat as vigorously as it needed to beat, and this lead to kidney failure.

Heart: I am sorry for your loss! When the heart stops working, it can not pump blood to the organs of the body. The kidneys are 2 of these organs. It is possible that your grandfather's heart stopped working properly and that caused decreased blood flow to the kidneys. Decreased blood flow to the kidneys leads to decreased urine production. Again, I am sorry for your great loss. Take care.

Death after CABG: You need to ask the physicians (P) taking care of your grandfather (G) what happened. Just because he made no urine, does not necessarily mean he died of kidney failure. Did the P tell anyone that your G died of kidney failure? Perhaps it was due to the CABG. No one here can give you a definite answer, as we have no access to his hospital records. Ask the P's taking care of him for their thoughts.
