Allergies v infectio: This could be from allergies (post nasal drip) or an infection. If allergies, an antihistamine (claritin) and a nasal spray (nasacort (triamcinolone) AQ is OTC now but if pregnant use rhinacort AQ). Likely virus: Your symptoms describe an illness that sounds most like a cold or virus. If the soreness in your throat persists check with your doctor about a strep throat. If so you may need an antibiotic. If you have trouble breathing or swallowing be seen sooner at the urgent care or ER.
