A member asked:

I have gsv reflux below knee. was directed to wear 30-40mmhg socks. symptoms mostly alleviated, but feet become colder than without wearing. normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

GSC reflux: it is normal to have cold feet in GSV. when there is extra intercelluler fluid (water) the skin temperature is lower as blood circulates and maintains body temperature ,but extra fluid prevents this phenomenon and temperature is lower than other body. feet are the most dependent part of the body and have extra fluid and are cold as compared to other body. compression stockings help GSC reflux.
