ER: When a patient comes in unconscious, we first look to stabilize the patient, make sure their vital signs are stable, make sure they aren't bleeding anywhere, make sure their neck and spine are stable, their airway is open and protected. Then the doctors do an examination and a system by system evaluation to try and find out what is wrong. This includes blood tests, xrays which may lead to this.
