Vagal response: A vagal response is the vagus nerve sending out signals in response to a stimulus. This results in a variety of responses , primarily slowing of heart rate and sudden temporary increase in blood vessel size. This results in a sudden decrease in blood pressure, which can result in lightheadedness or unconsciousness.
