Drip: if you hit your head hard enough, if the drip is salty or if there is fluid behind the eardrum, you need a CT scan of the sinuses and ear. if you tilt your head forward and there is a drip out of the nose that fluid can be analyzed. Be sure to see an ENT

CSF Leak: CSF leak is a serious matter. You need to be evaluated by a surgeon (a neurosurgeon or skull base surgeon) who is experienced with this problem. You are at risk of infection (meningitis) with CSF leak. sometimes, there is a meningocele at the site of the leak and therefore a neurosurgeon would be the ideal surgeon to handle your problem. If you get fever and headaches go to ER.

Cerebrospinal fluid: Unlikely CSF leak. Sometimes there can be a fracture at the base of the skull which leads to a cerebrospinal fluid leak through the nose, in the back of the throat, or from the ear canal. Usually there is a bruise over the eye (raccoon sign) or behind the ear (battle sign). When there is a spinal fluid leak, the fluid is clear and it usually comes out consistently from the same nostril.
