2 ounces of alcohol: Recommended daily intake of alcohol not to exceed: two ounces of 80 proof liquor, 8 ounces of wine, or two beers. A bottle of wine a day would be more than the recommended amount of alcohol. Alcohol dilates (opens) the arteries in the peripheral circulation (arms & legs). This is why there is a sensation of warmth. This action also decreases the blood pressure.
