Hypertrophy/cardiomy: Just like skeletal muscle will increase in muscle mass to incresae strength of contraction .This is a compensatory response to increase the force of contraction. However, as the heart muscle increases in size it everntually will decrease the size of the heart chamber (ventricle) and decreases the volume of blood in the ventricle.
